Vibrating Knickers

Vibrating knickers are underwear with a small pocket that holds a vibrator against the clitoris. A wireless remote, or a phone app, switches the vibration on and changes its pattern, so a partner can take control – which is why they are a favourite for teasing games.

Knickers or a knicker vibrator?

Some sets include the knickers and a bullet. Others are a curved vibrator only, held in your own underwear by a magnet or its shape. Sets are simple to start with; a separate vibrator works with any snug knickers.

What to compare

• Remote type and the stated range
• Rechargeable or battery powered
• Number of vibration modes
• The size range of the knickers, or tie sides that adjust
• How noticeable the sound is likely to be: smaller motors are quieter

Use and care

Fit the vibrator in its pocket and check that the knickers sit snugly so it stays in place. Test the remote at home before going out. Take the vibrator out before washing the knickers, hand wash the fabric in cool water and wipe the vibrator with a damp cloth and mild soap.
