A butt plug is an anal toy with a tapered tip, a wider body, a narrow neck and a flared base. The shape lets the muscles close around the neck so the plug stays in place, and the base keeps it safely outside the body. Plugs are worn for a feeling of fullness during solo play, foreplay or sex.
Types of butt plug
- Classic plugs: smooth and simple, the usual first choice
- Metal and jewel plugs: weighty, easy to clean and decorative
- Vibrating plugs: a motor adds stimulation, often with a remote
- Tail plugs: a tail fixed to the base for pet play and costume
- Training sets: several sizes to move up gradually
Which size should I choose?
Look at the maximum diameter first. Around 25 to 30 mm suits most beginners; move up only when a size feels comfortable from start to finish. Length matters less than width, and a slim neck makes longer wear easier.
Using a butt plug safely
Only use toys with a flared base for anal play. The anus does not lubricate itself, so use plenty of water-based lubricant and reapply as needed. Relax, insert slowly and never force it. Wash the plug before and after every use, and before it touches anywhere else.
